A specialty insurer is hiring a VP of Underwriting to own underwriting strategy, appetite, and portfolio performance across its book. This is a senior leadership seat with real ownership of profitability and portfolio construction.
Role responsibilities
- Set underwriting strategy, appetite, and guidelines across the portfolio
- Own loss-ratio performance and overall portfolio profitability
- Manage relationships with carrier and capacity partners
- Build and lead the underwriting team as the book grows
Requirements
- 10+ years in specialty or commercial underwriting, including leadership experience
- Track record owning loss ratios and underwriting P&L
- Strong pricing and portfolio-management judgment
- Established carrier and market relationships
